Tips for saving in Switzerland

Choosing less expensive grocery options can accumulate to huge savings overtime.

Less expensive options include Lidl, Aldi and Denner rather than more premium chains like Coop and Migros. Be sure to compare prices and find what's right for you.

Housing in Switzerland can be very expensive, especially for students.

For this reason shared housing is a must. Utilize student housing companies such as WOKO to mitigate these housing costs and meet new friends during your stay.

Take advantage of special travel payment plans to maximize savings.

Some of these payment plans include the Swiss Half Fare Card which allows its holder to purchase bus, train and boat tickets at half the price. This option is especially useful if you plan on travelling long distances often.
